- Solicitation Number: P14PS000982 Notice Type: Special Notice Submitted: May 2, 2014 Synopsis: This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, for Other than Full and Open Competition. National Park Service, Katmai National Park and Preserve, 1000 Silver Street, King Salmon Alaska 99613 has a requirement to procure the following items: CLIN 01 - Prefabricated classic timber cabin duplex structure, 887 sq. ft. using timber materials that are notched timbers, sawn Western Red Cedar, joined in an interlocking fashion, which maintain the historical consistency of existing architecture, delivered to King Salmon, Alaska no later than September 30, 2014. CLIN 02 - Prefabricated classic timber cabin structure, 444 sq. ft. using timber materials that are notched timbers, sawn Western Red Cedar, joined in an interlocking fashion, which maintain the historical consistency of existing architecture, delivered to King Salmon, Alaska no later than September 30, 2014. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other will satisfy the agency requirements, the Government intends to award a sole source contract to Pan-Abode Homes Inc., 1100 Maple Ave SW, Renton, WA 98507. The requirement for these goods is to provide Park Visitors the opportunity to utilize park facilities that match existing visitor use facilities in appearance. Efforts to solicit other contractors are being made via this announcement in accordance with FAR 5.2. The applicable NAICS code is 321992 with a size standard of 500 employees. The anticipated cost of this acquisition is determined fair and reasonable by comparison of prices proposed in other purchases of this nature. All responses received within 15 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchases order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 5:00 PM EST, Monday, May 19, 2014. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
