Description
The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions asked by vendors. Q:The required capacity listed in the specification is 12,000/ 25,000 lbs. Could you please clarify the reason for listing two different capacities? A:The first number (12,500) would account of the operating load (while extended with the lip of the leveler resting on the delivery truck) (Dynamic Load) The second number (25,000) account for the maximum weight in the stored position (Static Load) Q:Regarding the electrical conduit, the word "rigid" requires clarification. Rigid can mean "non-flexible" or it can refer to a heavy-wall, threaded connections, water pipe style special conduit. Normal ‘EMT' conduit is rigid as compared to armor-flex; however, it does not require pipe threading on the site. Please verify which is acceptable. A:The preference is Rigid Metal Conduit because it's thicker. Q:Electrical feed into the pit(s) - since the levelers being replaced are 100% mechanical, are we required saw-cut trenches in the surrounding concrete so as to feed the powered levelers in the pits themselves? Also, the same would apply to wall mounted controls at the door. Are we required to saw-cut for that as well? We normally fill the trenches with a non-aggregate type Quik-Crete concrete and hand trowel to meet the existing concrete surface height. A:Yes they're allow to saw cut trenches in the concrete and for the wall mounts as well (if necessary). Q:Assume we haul-away and dispose old levelers? A:We prefer you to haul away old levelers and trash. Q:Can we have more than eight (8) hours per day access? A:You can work all night if the prefer. The only exception(s) is when planning to drill, saw or make loud noise. You must do so after 4 PM and before 7:30 AM. The end user would need to know their schedule ahead of time so that Facilities can send a memo to security for after hours work. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
