Description

The Rome VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located at 125 Brookley Road, Building 510, Rome, NY 13441 intends to solicit for and subsequently award a sole source contract with Griffiss Utility Services Corporation (GUSC) for design and build services of a steam line and condensate return between the GUSC Steam Station and the aforementioned CBOC. The intent of this project is to access the renewably generated steam produced by GUSC's bio-mass steam generation plant in order to meet the VA's renewable energy goals. The design and construction of this steam line and its connection to the larger system can only be done by the utility providing the steam as the utility requires special permit to perform construction on their property as well as access their property for the purposes of the design. Said A/E and/or construction firm would need to have knowledge of and access to GUSC's steam generation plant and would need authorization to work on GUSC property. GUSC is the only available steam supplier to the Rome CBOC. Estimated project cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
