- LEMOLO FALLS TRAIL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT The purpose of this announcement is to make notice that the Forest Service contemplates releasing a solicitation numbered AG-04N7-S-14-0029 on or about MAY 16, 2014, for the LEMOLO FALLS TRAIL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT. Prospective bidders should visit this FedBizOpps website on or about May16, 2014, to obtain a copy of the solicitation. This notice meets the requirements of FAR 5.201. However, the Forest Service reserves the right not to release a solicitation. PROJECT DESCRIPTION:. The U.S. Forest Service, Region 6,Umpqua National Forest has a requirement for the Lemolo Falls Trail Bridge Replacement Project, Diamond Lake Ranger District, Douglas County, Oregon. The project includes but is not limited to: • Demolition of the existing 2 span log stringer bridge and pier, including the existing approach fill. • Removal of man-made materials from the existing bridge including treated timber. • Construction of new 109.5'span steel truss bridge including the design, fabrication, delivery and installation. • Construction of the geocell and precast concrete abutments, stone armor and retaining walls, and approach embankment. • Cutting hazard trees in the construction area and relocating them downstream of the new bridge. • The use of a helicopter to aide in the construction is anticipated. • Project Location From Roseburg, OR travel east on State Highway 138E for 73 miles. Turn left onto Forest Service Road 2610 and travel approximately 5.5 miles to the Lemolo Falls Trailhead (left across the canal bridge). Walk NW (downriver) for approximately 2.5 miles on the North Umpqua Trail #1414 to the bridge site. The bridge site is located near Latitude 43.355, Longitude 122.2267 and Elevation 3520 feet. The Lemolo Forebay #1 Helispot is located near Latitude 43.361, Longitude 122.2194 and Elevation 4120 feet. All work must meet Forest Service specifications and drawings included with the solicitation. The estimated date of start work is July 15, 2014. Complete all on site construction activities between July 15 and October 15, in 2014 or 2015 with entire project ready for use not later than October 15, 2015. NOTE: Clause 52-236-3 - Site Investigations and Conditions Affecting the Work, will be included in any contract awarded as a result of this solicitation. Potential offerors are urged to inspect the site where the work will be performed. An organized site visit has been scheduled for 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2014. Participants will meet at: Diamond Lake Ranger District Office, 2020 Toketee Ranger Station Road, Idleyld Park, Oregon 97477. Attendees participating in the site visit will be expected to provide their own transportation as well as personal protective equipment. There will be a 2.5 mile (one-way) walk on the North Umpqua Trail #1414 to the bridge site. The magnitude of construction for this acquisition is between $100,000 and $250,000. The Government intends to award a negotiated firm -fixed price contract. This project is 100% set-aside for Small Businesses. The North American Classification System Code (NAICS) is 237310. The size standard is 33.5 Million. A bid bond (20 percent) is required. A payment bond (100 percent) and a performance bond (100 percent) will be required after award. ). Note: prospective awardee shall be registered and active in the System for Award Management (SAM) data base prior to award. All contractors and vendors must complete the electronic version of the Representations and Certifications in the SAM system.
