Description
The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Contracting Division is conducting market research for potential sources for fabricating and delivering the following heavy steel sponson structures in accordance with Norfolk Naval Shipyard drawings: deck house compartment, a two-module local control room, main foundation, main structure compartment, and workshop. Additionally, the following outfit items will be required: chute, handrails, safety nets, and miscellaneous foundations and weather arrangements. This Notice constitutes a Request for Information only. This is not a Request for Proposal and in no way binds the Government to any contractual obligations as a result of any responses to this request, nor does it restrict the Government's acquisition approach. Installation by a contractor will not be required. The Norfolk Naval Shipyard will install these items on a U.S. Navy ship. For example, the requirements for welder qualifications are more stringent than AWS (American Welding Society), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), or ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) requirements. Copies of the above standards and technical publications will not be provided by DLA Maritime Norfolk, but are available on the internet. Copies of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard drawings are not yet available but will be provided to qualified vendors when available. Interested vendors located in the United States with the proper qualifications may respond to Bonnie Parker at bonnie.parker@dla.mil. Please make sure that the subject line on any email states "Sources Sought - Sponson Items" or "Source Sought - N421584112B330." Emails without subject indicators will not be read because of security issues. Vendors must also be registered in the General Services Administration's (GSA's) System for Award Management. At a minimum, vendors shall provide the following information: Company name and address, CAGE code, and point of contact including telephone number and email address.
