Description
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled GEOSTATIONARY HOSTED PAYLOAD OPPORTUNITIES AND ACCOMMODATIONS which was posted on 9 April 2014. This information is a clarification of material that is in the synopsis: 1.How does this fit together with other Hosted Payload related activities such as HoPS, the HPSIS, and the CII? Some of the information seems to be overlapping, so we would like to understand where this is focusing. Answer: ARC supports all efforts to develop hosted payloads from HoPS and is in contact with the Air Force. Often times different portions of the government pursue similar missions at the same time. These missions may, to a casual observer, appear to be the same but they can have very different mission requirements. ARCs interests are different from the AF as described in this Sources Sought synopsis. 2.Is there an acquisition timeline/plan for hosted payloads after this sources sought? Answer: There is no acquisition plan at this time. The purpose of the Sources Sought is to select a partner(s) to propose with in response to competitive solicitations. 3.Approximately how many hosted payload accommodation opportunities are expected per year? Answer: There are no firm opportunities at present. However we anticipate no more than 2 opportunities a year. The due date for responses is not extended. Documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
