Description
SoSITE INDUSTRY DAY CONFERENCE The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Strategic Technology Office will host an Industry Day in support of DARPA's System of Systems Integration Technology and Experimentation (SoSITE) program on 9 May 2014 at the DARPA Conference Center, 675 North Randolph Street, Arlington, VA from 0800 to 1200. Check-in begins at 0700. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the SoSITE program; promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions about the program, and facilitate one-on-one meetings between proposers and the DARPA program manager. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The System of Systems (SoS) Integration Technology and Experimentation (SoSITE) program will develop SoS architectures for air superiority in contested environments, demonstrate the rapid integration of mission systems into architectures, and demonstrate the combat effectiveness and robustness of those architectures. The objective of the SoSITE program is to demonstrate that a SoS approach can provide increased military effectiveness, cost leverage (i.e., the cost of the opponent to counter relative to the cost of the US to deploy), and adaptability necessary to maintain US air superiority in contested environments. This Industry Day covers Phase 1 of the SoSITE program only. The objective of Phase 1 is to develop architectures for distributing functionality across networks of manned and unmanned platforms for future experimentation, and to develop tools to enable this distribution to be done quickly and reliably. The objective of Phase 2, potentially following the release of a second BAA, is to resolve risks through experiments. Phase 1 of the SoSITE program seeks innovative research proposals in two major technical areas (TAs): TA1 - Architecture Development and Analysis. TA2 - Integration Technology Development. The SoSITE program will be conducted at several security levels. The Government anticipates that TA1 performers will produce products at the unclassified, collateral SECRET level, and TOP SECRET Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Required (SAR) levels. The Government anticipates that TA2 performers will produce products at the unclassified and collateral SECRET levels. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register no later than close of business on 5 May 2014, by sending an email to DARPA-SN-14-35@DARPA.MIL with "SoSITE Industry Day Registration" in the subject line. The email should include the attendee's first and last name, organization, country of citizenship, email address, and telephone number. A reply email confirming the registration will be sent. Concurrently, the participant should ensure that they have a current visitor request at the collateral SECRET level or higher on file at DARPA in accordance with procedures on the DARPA web site: (http://www.darpa.mil/About/Contact/Visitor_Guidelines.aspx). Participants may request a meeting with the SoSITE program manager by sending an email to DARPA-SN-14-35@DARPA.MIL with "PM Meeting" in the subject line. The email should include the attendee's name, organization, email address, and telephone number. A reply email confirming the registration will be sent. Meetings times will be emailed to participants prior to the beginning of the Industry Day. DARPA anticipates that meeting duration will be 15 minutes. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. The Industry Day will be held at the collateral SECRET level, is open to U.S. citizens only, and will not be open to the general public. Due to space limitations of the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 160 registrants, and no more than three (3) representatives per organization. Companies should coordinate their attendees' participation. Organizations interested in responding to Technical Area 1 should include a Contractor Program Security Officer as one of their three attendees All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. The Industry Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. DARPA will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Industry Day.
