- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a firm-fixed price contract action to The Boeing Company (Boeing), 5301 Bolsa Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92647, for 25 EADR Flash Drive Receiver Assemblies in support of the P-8A aircraft. The EADR acoustic flash drive receiver assembly is incorporated into the Boeing EADR chassis. The receiver assembly mates with the EADR Removable Drive Assembly creating the unique input/output interface to format and load the media within the Removable Drive Assembly for operational use on the P-8A aircraft; this interface will be established independently of the interface between the Removable Drive Assembly and the EADR Chassis for pre- and post mission tasks. In addition, NAVAIR intends to procure 25 dual Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) connector assemblies to be used to upgrade previously procured acoustics flash drive receivers. The planned delivery dates are 7 EADR acoustic flash drive receiver assemblies by September 2014 with the remainder along with the connector assemblies by December 2014. This sole source contract action is in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." Boeing is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the Boeing P-8A airframe, as well as the sole integrator of the avionics systems, and therefore is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government's requirements on a timely basis. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties, however, may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement. Any interested party must have the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort within schedule requirements. Any respondent must also submit a Statement of Qualifications to demonstrate respondent's ability to perform to the Government's needs within the required response time. This synopsis is for informational purposes only.
