Description
Asphalt overlay along Womble St between 19th St & B3644. 01. Asphalt overlay along Womble St between 19th St & 35 ft north of B3644 (see plan for paving limits). Asphalt overlay 1 inch cap (minimum depth, 2 average depth) on Womble St to quay wall, & easterly fence line (North to South fencing) Exact boundaries as indicated per plan are to include all parking areas (approx area=83,500 SF/9278 SY/515 CY/1030 tons) The minimum depth of AC paving is 1 , but the average depth is assumed to be 2 to allow for extra thickness in areas that may need to be built up for proper drainage. Provide Asphalt field density tests to meet NAVFAC standards. Provide tack coat for all existing surfaces to receive new paving (0.10 gallons/SY min asphalt). Note: The existing loading ramp approx 327 LF north of B3644 is to remain and the new paving feathered into its sloping surface. 02. Perform full depth repairs and crack filling where needed. (approx 1000 SF/112 SY) 03. Provide necessary cold planning, grinding to ensure an even transition between edges of existing paving or concrete surfaces/utility areas. Feather in new asphalt with existing paved surfaces. (approx 1000 LF/4000 SF/444 SY/12 CY) 04. Provide topographic/finish grading plan to insure water flow is directed toward perimeter of parking areas, or to any existing storm drain catch basins. (none observed in job walk) Ensure there is minimal pooling of water in any area (on parking areas or roadways). 05. Install 6 x18 concrete curb along southeasterly fence line north of B3642. (See plan-approx 258 LF) Preserve existing AC curbs at back edge of quay wall. 06. Raise any valves, manholes, cp's, steam vents, etc., that require raising. (approx 4-12 x18 rectangular hand hole boxes, 4-24 -36 diameter Elect, Oily Waste & Teleph manhole lids ) There are 2-72 square oily waste manhole concrete vault lids which are to remain at their existing level and will require grinding around perimeters to pave to them. (approx 200 SF). 07. When the paving job is complete, Contractor to perform all striping, purchase and install wheel stops and traffic dots at 18 oc at walkways and fire hydrants: Approx 48 LF of 4 wide single yellow center divide line, 522 LF of 4 wide red edge of travelled way lines on the quay side of street, 184- angled car parking spaces (38 spaces with 6 x48 precast concrete wheel stops 36 from easterly fence lines.), 9 ™x18 ™, 7-4 ™x10 ™ motorcycle spaces, roadway markings (1 œSTOP , 2 “ œ15 MPH), Note: Shops to provide crosshatched areas and restricted parking areas to match existing. (approx 2000 SF of 4 wide diagonal red lines @ 24 oc and 635 SF of 12 wide diagonal white lines @ 48 oc for 6 ft wide pedestrian walkway at the intersection of Womble & 19th Sts.) 08. Provide a complete and usable project in accordance with current OPNAVINST. 09. Provide proper notification (21 days) and coordination to secure any area, inform surrounding tenants, provide a base wide informational message, etc. 10. Ensure there is no conflict with any upcoming Navbase events, gate closures, ATFP exercises, planned home comings, award ceremonies, inspections, retirements, loadouts, etc. Inform all parties in the surrounding area, Fire Dept & FMS. A Base-wide informational message must be originated by FEAD personnel once an established schedule is known. Prior to the start of the asphalt overlay, ensure there are no conflicting events that would impact the area.
