Description

This sources sought notice is for information and planning purposes only and should not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This is not a request for quotes. The VA is currently conducting market research to locate qualified, experienced, and interested potential sources. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this sources sought announcement. The main purpose of this Notice is to identify potential vendors that are capable and qualified to purchase and install items to prevent freezing of fire sprinkler water lines and sprinkler heads in unheated space and the removal of sprinkler heads in the computer room. Installation of heat trace material on fire sprinkler pipes in unheated canopy and the capping of 3 fire sprinklers in the computer room and cable closet. Work will include: -Install Control Panel that provides users ability to manage the activation of heat to the sprinkler pipes based upon defined temperature set-points -program control panel based on user input and train owner on operation of heat trace system -install approximately 60' of Heat Trace on sprinkler pipe in unheated canopy -install insulation on all sprinkler pipe with heat trace application -shut down and drain fire sprinkler system -install and reconnect sprinkler system in vestibule -install dry sidewall head in back entrance -cap off (3) Sprinkler heads -return sprinkler system to normal operating condition -Permits, Equipment, and Fees. "Notice of Interest" shall reply by 10:00 p.m. CT Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Responses should be mailed to richard.labonte@va.gov. All email correspondence for this project must reference the RFI number and Project Title in the subject line of the email: VA258-14-I-0428, Albuquerque, New Mexico- Fire System Upgrade/Repair.
