Description
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command-- Fort Eustis will be issuing an Unrestricted Request for Proposal (RFP) for Care of Stock/Supplies in Storage and Field Level Maintenance to the U.S. Army Vessels Stationed at Muhammad al-Ahmad Naval Base and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The Government anticipates the award of one (1) Firm Fixed Price contract to the successful offeror as a result of this solicitation. The period of performance will be for a base period of twelve (12) months and four (4) 12-month option periods, if exercised. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment to accomplish the specified dry and wet storage, cleaning, painting and repairs to the U.S. Army Vessels stationed at Muhammad al-Ahmad Naval Base and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The designated North American Classification Code is 336611, Ship Building and Repair with a standard business size of 1,000. It is required that all contractors doing business with the Government be registered with the Systems for Award Management (SAM) Contractor Registry at http://www.sam.gov. Place of Performance: Muhammad al-Ahmad Naval Base and Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Shipyards must meet the required security clearances. Security procedures must be in place to protect the vessels. Personnel are required to complete the Port Facility Security Officer training and the shipyard has to be certified by the U.S. Navy and Army in a thorough Force Protection Survey. It is the contractor's responsibility to acquire the required credentials needed to gain access to Kuwait Naval Base. The entry requirements are being enforced by the Kuwaiti Navy Security Force. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract nor does it obligate the Government to pay for any proposal preparation costs. No additional information regarding this procurement will be available prior to the release of the RFP. The entire solicitation W911S0-14-R-0003 will be made available on the Government Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi and FedBizOpps (FBO) website at https://www.fbo.gov, on or about 12 May 2014. Once the solicitation is posted, it is incumbent upon the interested parties to review this site frequently for any updates/amendments to any and all documents.
