- Description
- Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD) requires the immediate services of a Certified Functional Safety Engineer (CFSE) certified in the Machinery Safety Application. The services of the qualified CFSE will assess the Government facility, develop, design and propose a commercially available safety system with safety devices associated with an industrial x-ray radiography facility at China Lake, CA. Please provide the CFSE's name, proof of certification, estimated per hour rate, and timeframe for availability, as the services are required immediately. If the CFSE is available on an existing Federal or Department of Defense contract vehicle that can support this scope of work, then provide the applicable information. The period of performance is projected to be no longer than three months. Should the Government proceed with a contract action, the anticipated scope of work is as follows: 1) Initial risk assessment and report 2) Report applicable standards and rational for their application 3) Design concept recommendations for the safety related parts of the control system and their integration to be delivered within the period of performance. 4) The safety system proposal shall include: a. Concept design (15% design) b. Design development (35% design) c. Pre-final design (100% design) d. Final design (100% design), including a integration plan e. Cost for the proposed installation of system f. Bill of Materials g. A report identifying compliance with one of the following safety standards: 1. NAVSEA S0420-AA-RAD-010 Rev1A or most current edition 2. Code of Federal Regulations 3. Industry Accepted Standards h. Final verification and certification that the safety system meets the applicable standards shall be provided in the report, inclusive of supporting evidence. NAWCWD requires responses be submitted to this Sources Sought within 14 days from the date of posting. The results of this Sources Sought will be utilized to determine if the required service exists in the marketplace and if any Small Business Set-Aside opportunities exist. All Small Business Set-Aside categories will be considered. A decision of whether NAWCWD will pursue a contract, task order, or purchase order will be made after the closing of this posting.
