- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA intends to award on an other than full and open competition basis in accordance with FAR 6.302 with General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) to provide 300 new AIM-9M Guidance Control Section (GCS) MARK 6 MOD 4 Gas Generator Assemblies. This is to support the refurbishment of Sidewinder AIM-9M tactical and CATM missiles under the AIM-9M refurbishment program, within 13 months after award. This requirement includes assembly of gas generator; qualification or lot testing for high-temperature and vibration, increase of temperature, and repeat of electrical resistance and airtightness testing after temperature testing; production lot testing and acceptance; failure analysis; serialization; packaging; and delivery. GD-OTS is the only known manufacturer of AIM-9M Guidance Control Section (GCS) MARK 6 MOD 4 Gas Generator Assemblies. The request for proposal will be posted at the Federal Business Opportunities Website at https://www.fbo.gov on or about 4/16/2014. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals. A determination not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or proposal which shall be considered by the agency no later than 15 days after the date of publication of this notice. The written response shall clearly show the firm's capability, background, experience and assets necessary to perform the required work without compromising the quality, accuracy, reliability and delivery of the products to the war fighter, and be submitted by e-mail to alexandra.vantwout@navy.mil.
