Description

The VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS) San Juan, Puerto Rico intents to solicit a Firm-fixed price service contract to provide for the cleaning of seven (7) Grease Hoods and their shooters (Ducts) at the Veterans Affairs Caribbean Healthcare System beginning on May 15, 2014. The Contractor shall provide all materials, chemicals, labor, supervision, tools, supplies, transportation, and equipment necessary to install and maintain the grease hoods by providing cleaning services. Contractor is responsible to inspect the equipment that will be cleaned before the work is done. If she/he finds any deficiency she/he shall notify the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) before starting the task. Otherwise she/he will be in the obligation to repair the equipment's and materials if found with any type of deficiency. All repairs shall be done within 24 hours. Exceptions could be made if approved by COR of Contracting Officer (CO). The cleaning service shall be done once per month. Other schedules and requirements to be determined are observed in the Scope of Work (SOW). The Contractor shall be in compliance to the NFPA 96 Codes Standards. At the VA Caribbean Healthcare System (VACHS), San Juan Puerto Rico. The period of performance for this procurement will be from May 15, 2014 or date of award if later, through April 14, 2015, plus four (4) one (1) year renewal options that may be exercised at the discretion of the Government. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for this service is estimated to be released on or about 10 April 2014. Solicitation is being conducted using the policies of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in conjunction with the policies and procedures for evaluation and award prescribed in FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. Award will be made to the lowest price technically acceptable offer. The RFP VA-248-14-R-0416 will be advertised as Total Small Business Set Aside. North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this procurement is 561720, and the size standards $16.5 Million. Only offerors from those firms regularly established in business providing this type of service will be considered by the agency. Interested offerors may obtain an electronic copy of the solicitation free at the URL address.
