- THIS IS AN INTENT TO AWARD NOTICE. NOTHING HEREIN SHOULD BE MISCONSTRUED AS A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS, QUOTES, OR BIDS. The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, KBA-Notasys SA. under the authority of FAR subpart 6.302-1 which authorizes other than full and open competition when the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. BEP PART NUMBER MAP1607, 10 EA, WHEEL, SET, COMPLETE for SMARTSKIP block system, Atlantic Zeiser part number ACE 016610, KBA order number SP34780-ACE 016610, Figure/Item 7.3.12, 100 per machine, used on LEPE. BEP PART NUMBER MAP1605, 10 EA, Numbering block, SMARTSKIP block complete, Atlantic Zeiser part number AAQ04033, KBA order number SP34780-AAQ04033, used to print serial numbers on the LEPE. BEP PART NUMBER ELP1248, 3 EA, MOTOR,SYNCHRONOUS, SCHMACHTL MH145-30-22-5-24-S-3I-65-A6-4, 400V;10.4A/1776Ncm;400V,5.57KW,3000M IN-1,17.76NM, KBA part number L0072410, used on the ink carriage on the LEPE. BEP PART NUMBER ELP1240, 4 EA, Frequency converter PARKER HANNIFIN COMPAX3 S015 V4 F11 3ph;Ue:80-528Vf:50-60Hz;Ua:3*0-400VIn:1.5A, KBA part number L0070832, used to drive chain conveyor at the singling unit on LEPE This notice of intent to solicit and negotiate an award of a sole source contract is not a request for competitive proposals, quote or an invitation for bids. In accordance with FAR subpart 5.207(c)(15)(ii), all responsible sources may provide a capabilities statement for consideration by the BEP no later than April 8, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. EST. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed requirement upon receipt of any responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
