Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue an Order against Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00104-09-G-A755 to repair one (1) Marine Trent 30 Naval Mechanical Drive (MT30) engine, part number MT3036B01, serial number MT300001. The repair shall be performed by Rolls Royce Marine North America Inc. located at 110 Norfolk Street Walpole, MA 02081-0788. The MT30 serves as the propulsion marine gas turbine (MGT) aboard LCS Lockheed Martin (LM) Variant hulls and as the main turbine generator aboard DDG-1000 type hulls. This repair is in support of LCS LM Variant operations and will support DDG-1000 operations. The anticipated contract period of performance will be from the date of award of this contract action, estimated to be 31 July, 2014, through delivery of all services. The engine is a commercial off the shelf (COTS) item designed, developed and exclusively developed by RRMNA. Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact RRMNA directly. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. As such, any submissions will not be reimbursed by the Government -- the entire cost of any submission will be at the sole expense of the offeror. However, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
