Description
Sources sought for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometers, by 5/8/2014. SOURCES SOUGHT Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometers April 7, 2014 Battelle Memorial Institute, Pacific Northwest Division, management and operations contractor of the U.S. Department of Energy's Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), in Richland, Washington, is requesting information for the future purchase of a number of spectrometers for performing nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy at intermediate and high magnetic field strengths (14 - 20 T). The first system would be configured for triple-resonance solid-state NMR studies at 20.0 T magnetic field strength (850 MHz for 1H). The spectrometer would include a wide-bore magnet with appropriate shim set, three radiofrequency channels (one tunable to 1H/19F and two broadband, lower frequency channels, one for 31P-15N, the second from 13C-15N with added capabilities to lower gamma nuclei) and a variety of solid-state static and magic-angle spinning NMR probes. The spectrometer would be capable of performing standard and advanced pulsed NMR experiments on samples of interest over a wide temperature range. A second system operating at 14.1 T (600 MHz for 1H) would be utilized for solid-state NMR of catalysts and materials, and would include a wide-bore magnet with appropriate shims, three radiofrequency channels (one tunable to 1H/19F and two broadband, lower frequency channels, one for 31P-15N, the second from 13C-15N with added capabilities to lower gamma nuclei) and a variety of solid-state magic-angle spinning and pulsed-field-gradient NMR probes. The spectrometer would be capable of performing standard and advanced pulsed NMR experiments on samples of interest over a wide temperature range. A third spectrometer system operating at 14.1T (600 MHz 1H frequency) would be utilized for high-throughput studies of complex mixtures of metabolites. This system would be comprised of a narrow bore magnet with a shim set capable of meeting industry accepted high-resolution line width specification and four radiofrequency channels (one tunable to 1H/19F, one 2H lock channel, and two broadband, lower frequency channels), cooled preamplifiers for 1H and 13C, and at least one cryogenically cooled liquid-state probe with fixed frequencies for 1H-13C-15N. This system will be capable of variable temperature operations, automated sample handling, and have a metabolite library available. If you feel your company can provide one, two or all three of the NMRs, and to assist PNNL in creating a vendor's list in preparation for issuing the RFP, please email the following information to PNNL by 8:00 a.m. PST, Monday, May 8, 2014: o Your Name (if more than one person to receive the RFP, please provide contact info for all) o Company Name o Full Mailing Address o Phone Number(s) o Email Address(es) o State business size: Small or Large (from NAICS code 334519, <500 employees is considered a small business) Send to: Linda Deal, Contracts Specialist 509/371-7603 Linda.deal@pnnl.gov Anita Jeffs, Sr. Contracts Assistant 509/371-6774 Anita.jeffs@pnnl.gov We will contact you when we are ready to issue the RFP. We look forward to hearing from you!
