- Andersen AFB, Guam is seeking information regarding potential small business sources to fabricate a steel truss. Please respond with a short (not to exceed one page) statement of interest, web site link if available, CAGE code, DUNS number, business size, small business type (veteran-owned, woman-owned, small disadvantaged, etc). The NAICS code is 332312 and the size standard is 500. Tentative requirement is as follows: Fabricate (1) Steel Truss for use in a troop labor project. Work includes: a. Contractor shall use Government supplied design and fabricate one (1) steel truss with the following nominal dimensions: 78'-6" total length, varying height, from 4'-0" on the ends to 4"-10" at the ridge, bearing at the top chords on each end, for roof systems on facility measuring 80'-0" in width. b. Contractor shall fabricate the beam section(s) with structural steel shapes, as specified in the design drawings. The steel shapes will be A36 structural steel, having properties of no less than 36,000 pound per square inch (psi) yield strength and 60,000 psi tensile strength, as specified in ASTM A36/36M-12. c. Contractor shall furnish all bolt connectors for truss section to truss section connections, as specified in the supplied designs. Steel connector plates will be of A36 grade steel and bolt connectors are as specified in the supplied designs and will meet A490 grade quality, with 150,000 psi tensile strength as specified in ASTM A490-12 and be of compressible-washer-type direct tension indicators or twist-off-type tension-control bolts conforming to RCSC, Specification for Structural Joints Using High-Strength Bolts shall be provided at all bolted connections. d. Contractor shall deliver to the site completed fabricated steel truss and perform minor corrections, on as-needed basis. The Government will unload sections from contractor's vehicle. The Government's Project Manager will inspect truss sections for field adjustments required by the contractor to place. The Government will then weld Steel Truss onto the existing structure and place required bracings and roofing systems. NOTE: Contractor shall perform a site visit of the facility to verify dimensions of facility and capability of existing trusses when compared to the drawings provided. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this information for market research purposes only. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http://www.fbo.gov). The Government currently does not have funds available for this project. The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this request for information
