Description
The Navy Communications Satellite Program Office (PMW-146), on behalf of the Program Executive Office Space Systems (PEO-SS) will host an Industry Day briefing on 30 April 2014 to provide information regarding the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) Terminal Test and Integration (MTT&I) Laboratories. The briefing will be at Booz Allen Hamilton, Conference Room #867, 1615 Murray Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92108. The purpose of the Industry Day briefing is to provide an overview of the MTT&I Lab capabilities/facilities and the process for obtaining access to the MTT&I Labs. The briefing will be followed by a Question and Answer (Q&A) session to provide Industry participants an opportunity to ask questions. All questions shall be submitted in writing to the Industry Day facilitator prior to the start of the Q&A session. Questions submitted will be answered to the fullest extent possible during the Q&A session. All Q&As will be posted on the SPAWAR E- Commerce website following the Industry Day, along with the Industry Participant List. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the SPAWAR E-Commerce website for any additional information (https://e- commerce/spawar.navy.mil/). Industry participant attendees should plan to arrive before 8:30 AM PDT for check-in and registration. The conference will begin promptly at 9:00 AM PDT. No cameras, tape recorders, or other production devices are permitted during the briefing or Q&A. Due to space limitations, no more than two participants per company are allowed. Pre-registration for the Industry Day is required. Interested parties should submit their requests in writing via e- mail to Annie Chen, at annie.chen@myvpsi.com no later than 15 April 2014. The e-mail request should include the company name and Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, along with the name, phone number, and e-mail address for each attendee, and shall include a primary point of contact for any changes or questions. All attendees will be required to show picture identification when checking in at Industry Day. The Navy-acquired Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) provides a narrowband, beyond-line-of-sight Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system with Space, Ground, and Waveform architectural segments. An end-to-end capability is realized in conjunction with MUOS-capable terminals, Department of Defense (DoD) Teleport Gateways, and other interdependent systems. The complex ground lab equipment acquired by the Government will support on-going development and maintenance, as well as external integration and test needs for emerging MUOS-related capabilities and system components. PMW 146 will manage the scheduling of the Government-owned MUOS Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) lab equipment (i.e. representative Ground System and satellite simulators) for all activities and organizations requiring access to this equipment. The information provided in this announcement is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The Navy has not made a commitment to procure any of the items or services discussed, and release of this announcement should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. Point of Contact(s): CDR Matt Bohlin MUOS APM, 858-537-0241; Mr. Jeffrey C. McCoy, Contracting Officer, 619-524- 7168 Questions in advance of the Industry Day shall be submitted in writing via e- mail to Mr. Jeffrey McCoy at jeffrey.mccoy@navy.mil.
