- RFQ: W911N2-14-Q-0002 is amended for the following purposes: 1. RFQ is extended until 07 APR 14. Responses are due no later than 10:00 A.M. Eastern Daylight Time. All quotes must be marked with RFQ number and title and accompanied with a signed/dated copy of this combined synopsis/solicitation and all amendments. Email quotes will be accepted. Please address to kevin.a.duffy4.civ@mail.mil 2. Posting of Questions and Answers. The following delineates: Question #1: In the last sentence of the Synopsis section, it states quote mark Name Brand or Equal with the following minimum specifications commensurate with the full specifications listed in Attachment 1. There is no attachment reflected. Answer #2: Attachment 1 is located at the end of the posted Synopsis/Solicitation. Question # 2: CLIN 0001 states quote mark commensurate with the PWS in Section 5 of the attached: quote mark There is no PWS reflected. Is there a PWS? Answer # 2: No, there is no PWS, please delete this reference citation. Question # 3: 1.1.7 asks for quote mark set of two-way surface mount speakers....... quote mark. The RFQ does not request any associated amplifiers necessary to drive these speakers. Vendors responding may omit the amplifier if this is not specified. Answer # 3: No amplifier is necessary. The speakers will be wall mounted within 5 feet of the unit or sitting on the credenza below. Question # 4: How high and what type of ceiling is in the conference room; i.e., drop tile, etc.? Answer # 4: The conference room has a drop ceiling. The ceiling height is approximately 8 feet high. Question # 5: What type of material is the wall constructed of where the Video monitor will be mounted on; drywall, brick, cement, etc.? Can any necessary cabling be run inside the wall? Answer # 5: The wall material in the room is stick built with dry wall. And, yes, a wall fish can be used to run the necessary cabling inside the wall. Question # 6: What, if any; Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) is required for the VTC system to be integrated into? For example, control system, computer sources, projector, etc? Answer # 6: No GFE's are required for integration. Question # 7: Is the 3 year extended service agreement needed for the HDX 8000? Answer # 7: No, a three year extended service agreement is not required. The one year manufacturer's warranty will apply. Question # 8: Would you please clarify if a specific amount of training is required for this solicitation? Answer # 8: Per Section #11 of the Specifications entitled TRAINING: The contractor shall be responsible for conducting the training to all individuals designated by the Government to operate the VTCE. This training will be conducted by the contractor and it will certify each individual to operate the VTCE. quote mark This training takes about 10 minutes. The technician conducts the training when the install is complete. It is operational review nothing more in depth is required. Question # 9: In accordance with, FAR 19.201 Small Business Program-General policy. It is the policy of the Government to provide maximum practicable opportunities in its acquisitions to small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns. Such concerns must also have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate as subcontractors in the contracts awarded by any executive agency, consistent with efficient contract performance. Request this opportunity be changed from unrestricted to set-a-side total small business. If not changed please provide the reason per FAR 19-502-2. Answer # 9: Request denied; please refer to FAR 6.3 regarding the Brand name justification Question # 10: Request the NACIS code be changed from 334310 AUDIO AND VIDEO EQUIPMENT MANUFACTING 334310 is solely for companies that manufacture A/V equipment. It does not allow for services as in installation or training. NACIS code 238210 ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS AND OTHER WIRING would be more appropriate for this solicitation. Answer # 10: Request, denied. Question #11: Will there be a site survey? If so, please provide time and date. Answer #11: No. Question #12: This solution assumes the credenza, which will contain the VTC codec and other electronics, will be located below the wall mounted monitor and camera. In addition, we assume the ceiling is a standard drop tile ceiling. Please confirm if these assumptions are accurate. If not, please provide the distance between the wall mounted video monitor and the equipment room, etc., where the VTC codec will reside. This is necessary to determine any additional cables, etc., required for a turn-key solution. Answer #12: That assumption is correct. The closing period for additional questions has passed; any additional questions received will be answered at the sole discretion of the Government.
