Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 3), Northport VAMC, Northport, New York is currently seeking Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, Hubzone, 8(A) or Small Business with the ability to provide a low temperature sterilization machine to assure that specific equipment and scopes are sterilized within a timeframe for re-use in the OR and GI suites. This project involves the purchase of one (1) system. This system is designed to ensure standards and practices of the Northport VAMC are met. In adhering to the mission Statement of the Northport VA, it is our duty to provide exceptional care for our Veterans. 1.1Background "The low temperature sterilization machine will replace ETO for most items requiring ETO sterilization. "ETO is a 17 hour process and is outsourced to a contracting facility. "The low temperature sterilization machine sterilizes in 45 minutes using hydrogen peroxide. This is safer for the environment and provides availability and faster turnaround time of needed surgical equipment. 1.2Scope of Work To acquire one (1) low temperature sterilization machine. 1.3Objective The primary objective for procurement of a low temperature sterilization machine: "It will promote patient safety by reducing the incidence of infection and complications related to transporting in a vehicle that is not temperature and humidity controlled. "A low temperature sterilizer machine refers to creating a cycle temperature between 116.6 °F-132.8 °F. "Reduce expense of purchasing extra equipment for back-up when equipment leaves the facility for ETO sterilization. "Reduce expense of outsourcing products to contractor for ETO sterilization. "Equipment will stay on site in the facility and be more readily available when needed. "The machine needs to sterilize up to two single-channel flexible endoscopes in at least 42 minutes. "Have the ability to sterilize DUO Cycle single-channel flexible endoscopes and associated light cords and cameras, including OLYMPUS/Gyrus ACMI scopes, together in 60 minutes. "The machine should have the capability to sterilize delicate instruments without lumens in 24 minutes. "The machine should contain an Interactive touch screen interface for easy programming for the users. Firms desiring consideration shall email directly to the Contracting Officer referencing the following in the subject field, "Low Temperature Sterilization Machine". Responses should contain the following information: Name of firm, Socio-Economic category of the firm (SDVOSB, VOSB, 8A, HUBZONE or SMALL BUSINESS), complete address, phone & fax number of contact.
