- The purpose of this announcement is to post a special announcement only. This announcement is for informational planning purposes only and it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government for any actual procurement of services. This announcement does not constitute a solicitation or a promise of a solicitation in the future. This announcement does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) issued a request for information: MS-2014-0001 regarding Missile Defense Agency Engineering Support Services (MiDAESS). This information will be used to inform upcoming acquisition strategy discussion for the future of MiDAESS or related follow-on acquisition activities. It is the intent of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to obtain significant industry input leading up to the Acquisition Strategy Panel (tentatively scheduled for June 2014) in a series of Industry Days, inclusive of the results of MS-2014-0001. Industry Day #1: April 15, 2014 from 0900-1100 Central Time at the Von Braun III Auditorium on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville Alabama. This event is open to all potential, past, and future offerors, however seating will be limited to two per company. Attendance must be confirmed in advance (No Later than April 4) by sending a notification of intent to attend Industry Day #1 to MIDAESS2014@mda.mil. Please title your response as "Industry Day Participation" and include the name of your company, names of your two representatives and if you already have access to the Von Braun Complex on Redstone A rsenal. Those attending but do not have access to Redstone Arsenal will need to use Gate 9's far left lane, present their driver's license, and state they are attending a MDA event. Industry Day #1 will focus wholly on a discussion of responses to MDA request for information MS-2014-0001 and the path forward for future industry engagements. Industry Day #1 is meant only as a precursor to future industry days. Future industry days will provide you an opportunity to provide specific input into the formulation of follow-on acquisition strategies. Industry is encouraged not to expend significant corporate resources on this event but is encouraged to attend if you are local to the Redstone Arsenal area. Future Industry Days and One-On-Ones will be scheduled as proposed changes to acquisition strategies, acquisition concepts, contract procedures, and evaluation methodologies are examined and mature so MDA can obtain industry's perspective on all the options under review. Attendance at Industry Day #1 is NOT a requirement to attend future Industry Days. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this announcement. All costs associated with responding to this special announcement are solely at the responding parties' expense. Respondents are solely responsible for properly marking and clearly identifying any proprietary information or trade secrets contained within their response. The Government will not be liable for, or suffer any consequential damages for any proprietary information not properly marked and clearly identified. Proprietary information received in response to this special announcement will be safeguarded and handled in accordance with applicable Government regulations. Responses to this announcement are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The Missile Defense Agency will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this notice. Responses to the announcement will not be returned. Not responding to this announcement does not preclude participation in any future acquisition.
