- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a fixed-price purchase order on a sole source basis to Harrison Scott Publications for access to Asset-Backed Alert online newsletter and database. The contracting officer has determined that Harrison Scott Publications is the only source that can reasonably meet the SEC's requirement in accordance with FAR Part 13.501(a). The publication uniquely provides hard-to-obtain news and statistics on the asset and mortgage backed securities markets and the regulatory and legal developments that affect them which are needed by the SEC staff. The publications content is copyrighted by the publisher, so no other source can substitute for it. The period of performance for the purchase order is anticipated to be one year and the total value of the order shall be below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. The SEC intends to award a purchase order to Harrison Scott Publications on or about April 20, 2014. This notice is not a competitive request for proposals. A competitive solicitation will not be issued. However, the government will give consideration to interested parties that identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by the response date, April 10, 2014
