Description

The VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Leland Stanford Junior University, The Stanford University. The proposed contract action is to obtain blood and blood products. NAICS code 621991 applies with a size standard of $30.0M. The contract will be a firm-fixed price contract with estimated quantities and is expected to be a six-month base period to cover the VA's requirements for blood and blood products while a new contract is being prepared. This sole source action is in accordance with the statutory authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer for consideration. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements. Responses are due by March 31, 2014 at 10:00 AM PST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses must be e-mailed to Daniel.czech@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. No reimbursement for any costs associated with providing capability statements will be provided by the Government.
