- National Defense Center for Energy and Environment - Industry Day The Program Management Office (PMO) for the National Defense Center for Energy and Environment (NDCEE) will host an Industry Day for interested parties. The NDCEE PMO will inform industry of potential contracting opportunities in support of the NDCEE mission. The NDCEE is a legislatively established program operated by an NDCEE Executive Agent (EA) on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment [ODUSD(I&E)]. NDCEE tasks address the high-priority environmental, safety, occupational health, and energy (ESOHE) technology requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD). The program's focus is on the demonstration and validation of ESOHE technologies to meet these requirements and transition of technologies to DoD, other Federal agencies and to commercial users. Specific areas for consideration identified in the NDCEE Operating Principles include: Alternative Coatings/Surface Preparation Processes to Reduce HAPs, VOCs, and Heavy Metals Alternative Power and Energy Solutions Biobased Products/Green Procurement Chemical and Biological Weapons Destruction Corrosion Prevention and Control Emerging Contaminants ESOHE Information Management Technologies Fossil Fuel Conservation Solutions (reduction of DoD's carbon footprint) Industrial Base Modernization Munitions and Explosives of Concern/Unexploded Ordnance and Sustainable Range Technologies Nuclear Waste Management and Disposal Occupational Health Improvement Technologies to Reduce Occupational Health Hazards Occupational Health Initiatives such as Facilitation of Increased Participation and Advancement in OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Recycle/Recover/Reuse of Materials including Demanufacturing of Electronic Equipment for Recycling and Reuse (DEER2) Remediation/Cleanup/Restoration of Contaminated Sites Safety Initiatives/Technologies to Reduce Preventable Accidents, Including Meeting Challenges Laid Out by the Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) Solvent Substitution and Reduction/Elimination of Ozone Depleting Compounds Sustainable Facilities and Infrastructure Waste Management, Minimization, Treatment, and Disposal Water Management, Conservation, Treatment, and Recycling Specific technology tasks may include: Problem Definition Research & Development Test & Evaluation Demonstration & Validation Technology Transition/Transfer Train-the-Trainer Date and Time: 7 May 2014, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm Place: Dickson Hall (Ball Conference Center), Bldg 3074, Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD 21005 The NDCEE Industry Day will be unclassified and open to all interested contractors, large and small businesses, and academia as well as other government stakeholders. All attendees must meet the requirements for admission to APG, to include: proper identification (i.e., driver's license and/or common access card), car registration or a car rental agreement, and proof of insurance.
