- REISSUE: Pre Solicitation Notice due to a technical system error originally posted under VA263-14-B-0027 The Department of Veterans Affairs Network 23 Contracting Office (NCO 23), on behalf of the Des Moines VA Health Care System, 3600 30th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50310-5774, anticipates issuing an Invitation for Bid (IFB) from verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) in NAICS Code 236220, Building Construction. The purpose of this amendment is to add the project location to the posting. All other information remains the same. The planned project includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, equipment and supervision necessary to perform work for the Des Moines VA Health Care System project 636A6-CSI-501, Renovate existing MRI Scan suite in preparation to receive the new Large Bore MRI equipment. During the renovation the Contractor is to provide uninterrupted MRI service utilizing a mobile MRI for the duration of construction. The MRI existing unit shall be removed through an existing roof hatch which is covered by the roof membrane. Once removed, the new Large Bore MRI will be dropped into place through the same roof hatch and no structural roof modifications are required. Existing fire protection system shall remain. The sprinkler head layout will be reconfigured to correspond with the new wall location. Exhaust ductwork will be modified in the MRI scan room to allow for revised ceiling layout. The renovation will affect 8 general areas at the hospital. Work shall include materials, such as, new windows, demolition of wall partitions to include gypsum board, metal framing, backing and blocking, wall protection, corner guards, handrails and finishes. Additional requirements are detailed in the Scope of Work. Work is to be completed within 150 days from issuance of this Notice to Proceed (NTP). Offerors shall note that the Government anticipates issuing the new solicitation with bid deduct alternates. Magnitude of Construction is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. Solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings, are planned to be issued on or about March 21, 2014. Bids will be due not less than one month following the issue date of the actual solicitation (exact date will be announced in the solicitation). These dates are not firm and may change due to unforeseen events. Offerors are advised to closely watch www.fbo.gov for all communications related to this planned solicitation. Prospective contractors shall note that this solicitation is planned as a 100% Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside. Offerors must be verified as an SDVOSB in the Department of Veterans Affairs VetBiz system in order to be eligible for award (www.vetbiz.gov). Offerors must be registered in the System for Award (SAM) database in order to be eligible for award. Bid, performance and payment bonds will be required. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for proposal.
