Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee intends to issue sole source a firm fixed priced commercial item contract to Biomerieux, Inc. to perform on site preventive maintenance services on the Biomerieux Microbiology Analyzer, Vitek 2 Compact, in accordance with original equipment manufacturers written procedures. The vendor will also carry out calibration services utilizing original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts. The services will be performed at the Department of Veterans Affairs VAMC Murfreesboro, 3400 Lebanon Pike, Murfreesboro, TN, 37130. A sole source procurement will be issued to Biomerieux, Inc. because they are the only vendor capable of performing preventative maintenance on the Biomerieux Microbiology Analyzer, Vitek 3 Compact, in accordance with the original equipment manufacturers written repair procedures. The Biomerieux Microbiology Analyzer is a microbial detection system built on Biomerieux's patented colorimetric technology that recovers a wide range of organisms. The repair of this equipment is needed in order to carry out the continuity of patient care. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 and 13.106-1(b) (2), "soliciting from a single source." The NAICS code is 811219 and has a size standard of $19M for this procurement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and submit quotations no later than 8:00 AM CST, March 28, 2014 to: scheronica.cohran@va.gov. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
