- Description
- The government intends to issue a sole source contract to Worldwide Primates, Inc. for Rhesus Non-Human Primate (NHP) blood bag unit, Leukoreduced, Typed A, B, or AB Blood (up to 108 units), for a base period of 6 months, with two 3 month option periods. The requirement is for an indefinite-quantity contract that provides for the delivery of a minimum of thirty 50ml units of A, B, or AB Leukoreduced Rhesus monkey blood up to 108 units. The blood must be shipped overnight with temperature monitoring during shipment to ensure proper handling of leukoreduced blood bags. The vendor will provide software and data cable to enable NAMRU-SA to download information from the temperature monitoring device. Once the blood is received by NAMRU-SA a blood gas sample will be run immediately. The potassium level must be within normal limits; below 7mmol/L. In the event that the sample is above normal limits, the vendor will be required to issue a free replacement of the rejected blood bag. The period of performance for this contract is anticipated to be a base period of 6 months, with two 3 month option periods. The type of funding which shall be utilized in the base period for each delivery order is FY14 Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E). Individuals interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine the individual's capability in providing the service required as specified above. All capability statements received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
