- Description
- Naval Air Systems intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Non-Competitive modification to contract N00019-10-C-0076 to General Electric Aviation Systems LLC, 2040 E Dyer Road, Santa Ana, CA 92705. This one year option modification is for the acquisition of up to 240 FPU-12/A 480 Gallon External Fuel Tanks (EFT) delivered as Government Furnished Equipment to the Fleet for installation into new production F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft in accordance with the Master Government Furnished Equipment Lists and to support our FMS customers. Procurement quantities are established up to 240 units, with stepladder pricing to be established during negotiations, in order to accommodate such quantities as may be authorized and appropriated by Congress, or requested by Foreign Military Sales customers. General Electric is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer for the F/A-18E/F and EA-18G FPU-12/A 480 Gallon External Fuel Tank. As such, they are the only known source possessing the requisite knowledge and experience required to provide the necessary design to ensure complete integration of the FPU-12/A 480 Gallon External Fuel Tanks with existing F/A-18 software, electronic systems, and hardware architecture. The period of performance is anticipated to be from September 2014 through September 2015. Supplies may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system or highly specialized equipment, including major components thereof, when it is likely that awarded to any other source would result in (A) substantial cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, responsible interested parties may submit information in which they identify their interest and capability. Naval Air Systems Command shall consider all responses. Responses without a return address, mailing address, and company telephone number will not be recognized. Proprietary data in the responses will be protected where so designated. NOTE: Contractors must be registered in the Central Contract Registration (CCR), www.ccr.gov database to be eligible for contract award or payment from any DoD activity. A determination not to compete this proposed contract, based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement as a sole source basis based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
