Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC) located at 23 Christopher Way, Eatontown New Jersey 07724 intends on awarding a modification under Contract VA118-13-C-0007 to Verizon Business Network Services Inc., 22001 Loundon County Parkway, Ashburn, Virginia 20147. The proposed sole source action is for a six-month, Firm-Fixed Price contract modification for Local Exchange Carrier (LEC) services, currently installed and used by the VA New York/New Jersey Veterans Healthcare Network including all Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) and support facilities in Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 3, which is part of VA Office of Information Technology (OIT) Region 4. This modification will be for a six-month contract extension from April 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014 to continue providing seamless coverage until VISN 3 LEC Services are migrated to the R4 Consolidated LEC Contract awarded on August 12, 2013 to Windstream Nuvox, Inc. (Windstream). This modification is being issued pursuant to authority 41 U.S.C.3304(a)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 entitled, "Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements." The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 517110 with a corresponding size standard of 1,500 employees. The estimated date of award for this action is March 31, 2014. This notification shall close on March 25, 2014. This is a notification of intent, not a request for proposals.
