Description
SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 336415 which has a corresponding Size standard of 1000. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. Program Details: This market research is being conducted to identify potential sources for the manufacture of Rocket-Assisted Take-Off (RATO) motors (NSN 1340015226689), initiators (NSN 1338015448565) and components. It is intended that this will be a competitive effort for approx. 837 motors. RATO motors are used to propel the BQM 167 drone to flight velocity as part of the Air Force Subscale Aerial Target (AFSAT) program. There will be no repair requirement as these items are expended after one use. The Department of the Air Force Logistics Life Cycle Management Command, AFLCMC/EBHCB, Hill AFB is conducting a market survey for manufacture of these motors. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought. Any information submitted by respondents to this notice is strictly voluntary. All responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis must be submitted to the point of contact listed above. This does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that procurement will be accomplished and is not a request for proposal or invitation for bid. Responding to this notice in no manner guarantees a contract will be awarded. 3. Background: This material buy contract is to support an effort to provide RATO motors to the AFSAT program on a continuing basis. 4. Performance Requirements: All performance requirements will be listed in the Specifications and Drawing Packages for all motors and their initiators. There is no commercial application for these motors.
