Description
Solicitation This is a Request for Quote. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District intends to issue a Request for Quote for Oxygen Releasing Compound (ORCTM). An in situ application of an ORC-ATM product is planned for the area up-gradient of a monitoring well with persistent low level vinyl chloride detections. The purpose of this in situ injection is to optimize the degradation processes occurring in the subsurface to enable groundwater remediation goals to be achieved and site close out to occur. ORC-ATM is a compound composed of calcium oxyhydroxide, calcium hydroxide, calcium carbonate and phosphates that is designed to release 17% of oxygen by weight when hydrated over a 12 month period. The ORC-A TMcomes in a powder form (-325 mesh or 44 micron screen) that is mixed with water in ration of 1 lb to 1/3 gallon of water to form thin slurry. The slurry is injected using a single stroke geoprobe 1000 single hydraulic piston pump with a flow rate from 0.9 to 2.3 gpm up to 1000 psi. Also: Hydrogen Releasing Compound (HRCTM). The purpose of this product is to optimize the biodegradation processes occurring in the subsurface to enable groundwater remediation goals to be achieved and site close out to occur. Approximately 2600 lbs of HRCTM will be injected into the subsurface (60 locations) using direct push technologies by CESAS in house personnel.HRC® is a proven technology for this type of remediation and is
