- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a non-competitive, sole source order conducted under the authority of the Multiple Award Schedule Program to General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule holder GS-07F-9597G Smiths Detection, Inc. 60A Columbia Road, Morristown, NJ 07960-4526 under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(i)(B)- Only one source is capable of providing the services. This notice will be distributed solely through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fedbizopps.gov. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Smiths Detection, Inc. is to provide maintenance service on their proprietary security X-ray equipment. Maintenance services are required by Smiths Detection, Inc. to maintain warranties; therefore, Smiths Detection, Inc. is the only vendor that can provide the necessary services on the FBI acquired systems. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by 10:00 AM, EST, Friday, March 21, 2014, via e-mail to James.McMahon@ic.fbi.gov. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Telephone requests will not be accepted. All contractors anticipating award, must be registered in the System For Award Management (SAM).
