- Description
- This is a notice of intent that the government anticipates issuing a contract for the continuation of repair and maintenance services on the Pocket J system. The proposed contract action is services for which the Government intends to solicit on a non-competitive basis to the incumbent contractor, Booz Allen Engineering Services (BES), Cage 01WAV4. The NAICS code is 334290. The proposed short term contract will be for a maximum period of 9 months. This will provide for continuation of current repair and maintenance services while a long term contract is being prepared. The continuation of critical services requires that this contract be awarded no later than 15 Sep 2014. Due to a compressed timeframe, it is neither practical nor possible to compete this short-term contract without uninterrupted services. The incumbent is currently performing the work satisfactorily and has a working knowledge of the facilities, mechanical systems, and day-to-day requirements. The government intends to solicit and negotiate a fair and reasonable price in accordance with FAR 15 and FAR 6.302. Suitable technical data, Government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge is not available to permit repair and maintenance by other sources at such a short notice. 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This contract will be for 9 months (6 months basic and (1) 3 months Option). Basic 6 Months Repair and Maintenance Option 3 Months Repair and Maintenance Period of Performance: Maximum 6 months on the Basic and 3 months on the Option. Acquisition NTE 9 total months. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Estimated Solicitation Date: 30 Apr 2014 Estimated Response Date: 30 May 2014 Approximate Award Date: 30 Jun 2014 For additional information and/or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition, contact the Contract Specialist, Kimberly Waddleton at 478-222-6903 or Contracting Officer, Cassandra Tharpe at 478-926-4101.
