- The National Park Service (NPS) Grand Canyon National Park is conducting market research to determine industry interest and capability in performing upgrades to its shuttle buses. The park anticipates implementing upgrades to its fleet of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, commencing with two 1998 New Flyer model C40LF buses. These buses are 40 foot, 39 passenger units with an average of 350,000 miles, and have been well maintained. The contractor will be required to replace expired, 15 year old, CNG tanks, six tanks per bus; install new tires; install new LED destination signs; install air conditioning systems, on units currently without air conditioning systems; and, rebuild the engines. Limited space may be available within the park for on-site performance. The park is seeking feedback to identify possible sources and refine its requirement. The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811111. This announcement is not a solicitation for proposals.
