- Description
- Approved Justification This is a limited source synopsis that provides notification of OPM's intent to extend for a period of six (6) months contracts OPM15-10-F-0009 (Sprint), OPM15-10-F-0012 (AT&T), and OPM15-10-F-0013 (Verizon, DBA Cellco Partnership), for nationwide cellular telephone services in support of the OPM Federal Investigative Service (FIS) background investigations program. The period of performance for this extension will be from April 1, 2014 through September 30, 2014. This extension is needed to allow time to complete the re-competition process to replace these contracts. Not awarding a six-month extension would cause serious injury to the Government. The extension will provide for the continuation of uninterrupted cellular services for OPM's federal background investigators to provide mission critical services. This six-month extension of services is pursuant to 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(2); FAR 6.302-2 - Unusual and compelling urgency; FAR 6.302-2 and FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services. Determination by the Government not to compete this contract extension period based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Written comments or questions regarding this notice must be e-mailed to James Thieme at e-mail address james.thieme@opm.gov
