Description

This is a 100% small business set-aside. The VA Caribbean Healthcare System hospital, 10 Calle Casia, San Juan Puerto Rico, has a requirement for dishware supplies compatible with the Aladdin Cook-Chill Excel patient meal system that is currently in use at the facility. A requirements type contract is intended with a base plus three option years' ordering period. The vendor must be capable of providing all of the dishware types listed below. The facility has limited storage space, therefore the vendor must be capable of providing weekly or biweekly deliveries, and occasional emergency deliveries with one day notice. Timely and efficient processing of patient meals is critical, therefore the dishware must function in all respects, with no degradation in meal processing capability and system performance, in the Aladdin Cook-Chill Excel conduction system currently owned and in operation at the facility. The dishware must perform in such a manner as to ensure uniform and accurate heating or cooling, prevent boil-over, and fit within the system pods. The dishware must be of adequate durability for all disposable and multiple use items. Items as follows, brand name or equal: high heat entrée dish product code A43S, high heat SP bowl lid 5' product code B95, high heat SP bowl 5' product code B25B, high heat SP bowl 3' product code B27S, high heat SP bowl lid 3' product code B87S, tray mat excel woven product code TCE03, high heat reusable SP bowl product code J450, high heat china plate 7 3/4' product code J341B, Temp Rite II excel entrée dome product code T717HG, Excel SPS dome harvest green product code T727HG, Excel tray black product code S700BK, divided high heat entrée plate 7 3/4' product code J451, heat SP bowl vented lid 8oz product code B97S, high heat casserole bowl 8oz product code J455. Estimated yearly required quantity totals 1,300 cases. This requirement will be 100% Small Business Set Aside with a NAICS Code of 333318. To be eligible for award the contractor must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM). Further information regarding registration can be found at www.sam.gov. The solicitation is estimated to be released on or about 14 March 2014 via Federal Business Opportunities (FBO), with estimated award date 15 April 2014. All documents and information regarding this opportunity shall be posted on FBO. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
