Description
REQUEST FOR INFORMATION THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND YOUR RESPONSE IS NOT AN OFFER. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION DOES NOT COMMIT WMATA TO ANY INCURRED COSTS IN PREPARATION OF ANY SUBMISSION TO THIS NOTICE, OR TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES. PURPOSE The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to obtain industry comments on the draft statement of work, and to determine interest in participation. Firms are strongly encouraged to provide comments, questions, and suggestions relative to the project scope, methodologies and technologies, and approach. Any input that businesses or interested parties would like to provide will be reviewed and considered. INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS DOCUMENT The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA or Authority) requires a contractor to provide Rail Operations Control Center (ROCC) software and configuration services to replace the existing software. The new ROCC Software should make the rail system safer for customers and employees, provide improved customer satisfaction through more reliable and efficient operation, increase fault tolerance by minimizing and simplifying equipment configurations and provide a platform that will allow WMATA to exploit new advances in technology. Further details can be found in the draft statement of work, as attached. Responses shall be no more than 20 pages in addition to the standard informational or promotional literature of the submitting entity. The submission shall be clearly marked as RFI-030614. Please provide the above information no later than 2:00 pm on 9 April 2014, via email only, to Mr. Michael Glimp at mdglimp@wmata.com.
