Description
The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Ft Belvoir, VA intends to issue an extension to contract W91QV1-11-C-0008 under the authority of FAR clause 52.217-8 and FAR Part 6.302-1. The NAICS is 561730, Tree & Shrub Maintenance, size standard $7M. Pricing for this option was not previously evaluated. The extension will be made at the prices set forth in the current contract for the period of 1 Apr 14 - 30 Sep 2014. This extension is necessary to provide for the continuation of essential Tree & Shrub Maintenance Services at Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) pending the award of a competitive follow-on contract. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials and supervision to prune between to 2,500 and 3,500 trees, remove between 175 to 225 trees, prune between 9,000 and 11,000 linear feet of shrubs and hedges, prune the linden trees lining the Ceremonial Mall, train the wisteria vines at the Old Amphitheater, provide emergency support, install cabling and lightning protection and perform between 2,200 and 2,600 hours of additional ground pruning tasks annually. Tree and shrub maintenance includes air-spading, root pruning, watering small trees, watering large trees, and watering shrubs, spraying trees and shrubs with pesticides or other products, applying soil injections of fertilizers, pesticides, and other products to trees and shrubs. Up to 250 trees are to be planted and warranted to be in a healthy, vigorous state for one year following initial post-planting acceptance, and Contractor shall provide all plant care and maintenance during that time. Contractor shall transplant up to 5 trees annually from one location to another within Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) or at the US Soldier's & Airmen's Home National Cemetery (USSAHNC). This notice is not considered a request for proposal. It is for information purposes only. The extension will be made under contract W91QV1-11-C-0008 with Discount Tree Service, Inc, 4002 Meadowview Drive, Suitland, MD 20746.
