- BEAVER CREEK SAGEBRUSH PLANTING 2014 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The intent of this contract is to secure services to plant 30,000 Antelope Bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata) and Mountain Big Sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana) seedlings on the Sawtooth National Forest in the Beaver Creek Fire. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary in the timing identified, and on the areas specified in this document. The contract includes transporting seedlings to planting units and planting of seedlings. Seedling will be provided by the Sawtooth National Forest. LOCATION The 2 planting units are located on the Ketchum Ranger District in Blaine County, Idaho, and 2 planting units are located on the Fairfield Ranger District in Camas County, Idaho as identified in Appendix Figures 1 and 4: 1. Imperial Gulch Unit. Located approximately 10 miles south of Ketchum, Idaho. Access to the area is via Highway 75 and Greenhorn Gulch Road then by foot or pack animal approximately.5 to1.5 miles to planting sites. (See Appendix Figure 1). The legal description is: Township 3 N., Range 17 E. Sections 15 21, 22, 28. Slope in the planting unit is 10-45%. 2. Jimmie Creek Unit. Located approximately 14 miles south of ketchum, Idaho. Access to the area is via Highway 74 and Deer Creek Road to Clarendon Hot Springs private land then by ATV, foot or pack animal across private land, then 1.5 miles to access National Forest Lands and planting unit. (See Appendix Figure 1).The legal description if Township 2 N., Range 17 E. Section 3. Slope in the planting unit is 23-45% 3. Buttercup Creek Unit. Located approximately 20 miles north east of Fairfield, Idaho off of Highway 20. Access to the area is via County Line Road to Willow Creek Road/Forest Service Road #017 and Buttercup Creek Road. Planting unit is from road upslope approximately.75 mile accessed by foot. The legal description if Township 2 N., Range 17 E. Section 3. Slope in the planting unit is 20-45% to Trail #?? to headwaters of Nebraska Creek. (See Appendix Figure 2). The legal description is: Township 3 N., Range 15 E. Section 14, and Township 3 N., Range 16 E. Section 13. Slope in the planting unit is 25-45%. 4. Nebraska Creek Unit. Located approximately 20 miles north east of Fairfield, Idaho off of Highway 20. Access to the area is via County Line Road to Willow Creek Road/Forest Service Road #017 and Buttercup Creek Road to Nebraska Creek ATV Trail from which point access is by ATV or foot for.5 to1.5 miles into planting unit. The legal description if Township 2 N., Range 16 E. Section 24, and Township 3 N., Range 16 E. Section 13 and 18. Slope in the planting unit is 25-45%. The planting units are not accessible by vehicles. The Contractor will need to have ATVs, pack animals or walk to and from the planting units. In some units this distance is up to 2 miles from vehicles off trail, on steep slopes with loose footing. CONTACT FOR MORE INFORMATION DEB TAYLOR (208) 622-5371.
