- Description
- General Information Document Type : Sources Sought / Request for Information Sollicitation Number : FD20201400372 Contracting Office Address Department of the Air Force, OL:H/PZABB, Hill AFB, UT, 84056 1. NOTICE: This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only. 1.1 The purpose of this Sources Sought is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or a total Small Business Set-Aside. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 336413 which has a corresponding Size standard of 1,000 employees. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. 2. Program Details: Description This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis and Request for Information amendment. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting market research of industry to identify sources that meet Air Force requirements. This is neither a request for proposal nor an invitation for bid. There will be no reimbursement for the information provided. This Sources Sought is to provide information on the MicroCID (NSN 7025-01-487-3793WF and 7025-01-606-0374WF) used for loading mission data on Data Transfer Cartridges for the F-16 and A-10 Aircraft. The MicroCID plays a critical role in daily flight operations for the F-16 and A-10 fleets. The MicroCID was bought from what is now General Electric Aviation, as an off-the-shelf asset to support mission planning. The government purposely did not request data as a cost-cutting measure at the time (c. 2000). In the past General Electric Aviation was unwilling to sell the needed repair data to the government, and there is no reason to believe they would now. General Electric Aviation is the only known source with the specialized facilities and equipment required to repair the MicroCID. An offeror that has previously repaired this or a similar MicroCID, used for many aircraft, may submit a "Source Approval Request" (SAR) to the design control authority at OO-ALC (416 SCMS/GUMAC). We hope this will help clear any confusion relating to the MicroCID. If you have any questions please send them to steven.griffiths@us.af.mil and we will respond as soon as we can obtain an answer. Disclaimer THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS RFI OR TO OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked Proprietary or competition sensitive will be handled accordingly. Responses to the RFI will not be returned. The responses to this notice are not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this RFI. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. POC: Steven Griffiths, Contract Specialist Phone: (801) 777-9245, email: steven.griffiths@us.af.mil
