Description
02/26/2014 RFQ14-PHX-07 Q&A #2 1. Q: The SOW says pick-up are quarterly, but you answered a question on the fbo.gov site that says the pick-ups should be weekly. Could you please clarify the service frequency? A: Pick up is currently weekly. Though we don't generate massive volumes of regulated medical waste, I think a weekly (or, at most, bi-weekly) pick up is wise. 2. Q:The SOW says hazardous and radioactive waste may be included. These are separate waste streams that have very different regulations on how they can be disposed. By law, these waste streams cannot be commingled. A: I suspect that SOW relied heavily on boilerplate items. I am not aware of any radioactive waste that we currently generate or dispose of. I know that our dental department does X-rays, but considering they recently disposed of the lead shields they no longer used, that suggests they're not generating any radioactive waste either. The scope of work should really only include the red bags for regulated medical waste and the sharps containers. 3. Q: What size container is the facility using? A: The container is roughly a 4 cubic yard container. As far as I know, we don't fill the entire area between pick up dates. The scope of work will be revised to include the following; 1. Bi-weekly pickup and quarterly billing 2. Include the red bags for regulated medical waste and the sharp containers only.
