- RMD2014SS#1 - SOURCES SOUGHT - PRODUCTION GRADE, HIGH SPEED, HIGH VOLUME SCANNERS FSC - 7025 NAICS - 334118 Issue Date: 02/24/2014 - Closing Date: 03/24/2014 - 2:00 PM EST This solicitation is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov/ MARKET SURVEY - SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS: The Records Management Division (RMD), of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), is seeking information for market research purposes relative to the possible purchase of up to five (5) Production-Grade Scanners. A Request for Information (RFI) is being sought regarding the specifications for the respective scanners. Specifically, the scanners must meet or exceed the following specifications: 1) Scanning Speed - Minimum of 250 Pages Per Minute (PPM) (Letter size and Portrait at 300 DPI) 2) Paper Handling - Demonstrated ability to handle fair to poor quality paper (i.e. - old onion-skin documents) 3) Scanning Mode(s) - Simplex and Duplex 4) Document Size - Capable of handling small documents such as business cards and post-it notes as well as handle oversize documents such as legal size file folders 5) Image Capture - Two stream image capture options that include color, bi-tonal (Black and White), or grayscale. Capable of JPEG 2000 image output. 6) Document Feeding - Automatic and Manual 7) Barcode recognition and capture 8) Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) Capacity - minimum of 1000 Sheets 9) Double Feed Detection. 10) Orientation - Portrait and Landscape 11) Image Resolution Minimum - Output: 300 DPI, Optical: 300 DPI 12) Image Enhancement - Deskew and Auto-orientate. Image cleanup for improved Optical Character Recognition capability. 13) Scanner interfaces to a batch management software that captures and provides statistical data on scanner and scan operator performances. The software must allow for management of batch and reports from scanner and non-scanner workstations. 14) Specify the host operating system. Only submit information for scanners that meet ALL of the specifications. The FBI would like to gather information from interested vendors who can provide scanners that meet the specifications listed above. All interested parties are requested to provide detailed information to include, but not be limited to specification sheets, line cards, pictures, trade study reviews, etc. The synopsis/submittal (white paper) shall be no larger than 25 pages, excluding supporting information such as commercial literature, catalogues and manuals.
