Description

Notice of Posting Questions and Answers in accordance with VA250-14-Q-0193 Question 1: Are you looking for a vendor to install and support your wireless network or are you looking for an internet provider? Answer 1: Please refer to section 2 of the statement of work. Internet service only, all equipment is present and in good working condition Question 2: On which building should we install the 100M circuit? In other words, where is the DMARC? Answer 2: All internet cables/lines are distributed from Building 18 Question 3: Can I assume that all access points are connected together into one main location? Answer 3: Everything is linked together originating from Building 18 Question 4: How far is the DMARC from that main location? Answer 4: Varies, guessing several hundred yards would be the furthest location. Question 5 : Do we need to propose a PoE switch to power the access points? Answer 5: Everything is up and running now, no additional equipment is needed or requested at this time. Internet service only Question 6 : How many access points do you have? Answer 6: Each building has 3 floors and 3 access points per floor Question 7: Is there an incumbent contractor or was this network deployed by the VA internally? Answer 7: Yes, there is an incumbent contractor. Question 8: Are the existing access points completely dedicated to providing guest Internet access, with no other SSIDs and networks using them? Answer 8: Guest access only Question 9: Will the contractor have access to all of the closets where the current equipment is housed (including Internet gateway)? Answer: Monitored access Question 10: What is the make and model of all of the existing WiFi network and Internet gateway (firewall/router) equipment? Answer 10: Upon award, detailed information will be provided Question 11: Can we install equipment that would be incorporated into the system to provide enhanced remote monitoring and support functionality? Answer: No Question 12: Can the VA provide diagrams of the existing network, or at least provide quantities of the different network elements and a description of how they are connected back to the existing Internet connection? Answer 12: Upon award detailed information will be provided. Question 13: Is the current system a centralized, campus-wide system, or are there separate, standalone systems for each building? Answer 13: Campus wide Question 14: Can the VA provide historical data/graphs on bandwidth usage and/or number of clients on the existing system? Answer 14: No Question 15: What format would you prefer for showing past performance? Answer 15. No more than 5 references are needed as long as they are recent and relevant. Indicate company name, contact information, brief description of project, duration of effort, and estimated dollar amount.
