- Naval Medical Research Center - Frederick (NMRC-Frederick) is located at Fort Detrick, MD and conducts basic and applied biomedical research to enhance the health, safety, readiness and performance of United States Navy and Marine Corps personnel. NMRC-Frederick has a requirement for research support services to facilitate biological research and field/laboratory detection of infectious diseases for the purpose of studying infectious diseases, biodefense and enhanced global disease surveillance for early pathogen detection and response. This requirement will be solicited an unrestricted basis utilizing Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. The Government anticipates issuance of a single, Cost Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) contract with a 60-month period of performance for services (inclusive of planned option periods). The legacy contract was awarded to The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc.; under task order number W911QY-11-D-0053-0006 and with a period of performance of 24 months. The legacy contract was awarded by Natick Contracting Division and they remain the cognizant contracting office for the legacy contract. No further information is available from Naval Medical Logistics Command. Any further information (to include pricing) has to be requested from Natick through the FOIA process. The solicitation is expected to be uploaded to NECO (which uploads to FBO.gov) on / or about 14 March 2014. Solicitations are to be downloaded from NECO(https://www.neco.navy.mil/index.aspx) or FBO (FBO.gov) and no solicitations will be mailed. All proposals need to be submitted electronically according to the instruction that will come out in the solicitation. No proposals will be accepted via any other method of submission. Any and all updates to this notice (to include the solicitation and any amendments) will be posted to NECO (which uploads to FBO.gov) and NO other sites.
