- PROJECT TITLE: NEXRAD Commercial Cables LOCATION OF WORK: Vendor's Facility NAICS CODE: 335929, Other Communication and Energy Wire Manufacturing. The small-business size standard is 1,000 employees. SET-ASIDE STATUS: Small Business DESCRIPTION: The Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Radar Operations Center (ROC) requires 440 high density D-SUB commercial cables and 880 high density commercial cables. Specifications will be provided with the solicitation. NEXRAD (Next-Generation Weather Radar) is a network of 168 high-resolution Doppler weather radars operated by the National Weather Service (NWS), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and the U.S. Air Force (USAF). NEXRAD detects weather events and is the primary detection system used by the NWS to support issuance of severe weather warnings, and used by the FAA and USAF to support safety of flight operations. The WSR-88D ROC is responsible for complete life-cycle support of the radar network including system engineering, configuration management, and logistics analysis and support. The contractor shall be capable of providing 440 high density D-SUB commercial cables and 880 high density commercial cables. All cables must be 2.5 feet long. The following is the delivery schedule for the NOAA/ROC Agency Stock Number (ASN) cables: - CLIN 0001- Commercial Cables High Density D-SUB First Article - 1ea. - CLIN 0002- Commercial Cables High Density First Article - 1ea. - CLIN 1001- Commercial Cables High Density D-SUB Full Production - 440 ea. - CLIN 1002- Commercial Cables High Density Full Production - 880 ea. All dates listed below are tentative; official dates will be provided when the solicitation is released. TENTATIVE SOLICITATION ISSUE DATE: February 24, 2014 TENTATIVE PROPOSAL DUE DATE: March 11, 2014 ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE: March 21, 2014 DELIVERY SCHEDULE: First article units will be delivered to the ROC in Norman, OK 30 days after receipt of order. The full production units are due 60 days after First Article approval.
