- Description
- Draft PWS Market Research Questions RFI/Sources Sought Letter This PWS identifies tasks pertaining to INDS II innovations to include but not limited to: enhancing and developing computer network data monitoring, reporting, management, correlation, visualization, and tracking capabilities supporting AFSPC, 24 AF, 67 NWW and 688 CW at locations world-wide. This is achieved by addressing current and evolving intrusion detection system (IDS) and intrusion prevention system (IPS) requirements in support of the Air Forces information assurance (IA) and information operations (IO) activities within cyberspace. These activities fall into three categories: System in Design/Development (SIDD), System in Testing (SIT) and System in Sustainment (SIS). These phases are described below. At times different systems or different versions of the same system may be in two or even three phases at the same time.  SIDD is either a fielded system that is undergoing a version upgrade to enhance its operational functionality or a new system required to satisfy a specific network defense operational requirement.  SIT is a system that has migrated from the development stages and is ready to be tested by the 346 Test Squadron or another independent testing organization prior to field release. This testing is addition to the Quality Assurance (QA) testing which occurs constantly and is conducted by the INDS team.  SIS are fielded systems that require Tier 3 support to maintain operational sustainment. The 90 IOS is responsible for the baseline configuration updates, innovation of capabilities, Tier III technical support, and subject matter expertise for the INDS II capabilities. In summary, INDS II is a multifaceted activity meeting urgent cyber security needs and presenting additional real-time options to the cyber operators. Future capabilities extend defense-in-depth throughout the entire AF network, from the GIG to airframe to PC, and incorporates advanced counter-cyber options for cyber supremacy.
