Description
The NAVSUP, Weapon Systems Support, Mechanicsburg, PA, in support of Naval Special Warfare, is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought synopsis as part of a market survey. NAVSUP is seeking sources that manufacture diversionary devices (electronic only device submissions are acceptable) within the United States. All interested sources are encouraged to submit company and product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government ™s evaluation, including business status (e.g., small business, small disadvantaged business, HUBZone, woman-owned, veteran-owned, etc.) not to exceed 3 pages. The product information for diversionary devices shall include the following information: (1) sound pressures/ output and distance measured (dB, ft), (2) light intensity and distance measured (cd, ft), (3) waterproof capability, (4) weight, (5) device venting details (side vent, top-and-bottom, etc.), (6) safety features minimizing serious injury in the case of a malfunction or operator error, (7) number of reports (1 to 9 outputs). (8) Human Effects Study or Analysis conducted. If diversionary device is purely electronic also include information regarding: (1) power source, (2) operational controls, (3) event duration. Test data to demonstrate the design characteristics can be included. If the product capability is determined to be suitable, a small quantity of prototype units may be procured for testing to evaluate the suitability of this device for the Government ™s needs. At the current time, NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE for contractual efforts. The U.S. Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse companies or entities that submit literature in response to this announcement. Nothing in this announcement constitutes an obligation on the part of the U.S. Government. The Government is only seeking possible sources for future needs, if they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED.
