Description
This acquisition is a follow on effort to the SOF RAPTOR and SOF RAPTOR II contracts originally awarded by the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) in 2001 and 2009 respectively. The original SOF RAPTOR contract provided a vehicle for conducting training requirements analysis, concept exploration, and prototyping to support United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and its component commands' simulator and simulation requirements. The efforts contracted under SOF RAPTOR II included similar types of tasks to those performed under the original SOF RAPTOR contract, but also supported numerous Live, Virtual, and Constructive efforts to meet the training and rehearsal objectives of USSOCOM and its component commands. The new SOF RAPTOR III contract will support not only the objectives of USSOCOM programs, but to support the objectives of the joint Special Operations Forces (SOF) community to conduct operations. More specifically, this contract vehicle provides the means for conducting training requirements analysis, advanced concept exploration, rapid prototype development, curriculum development, SOF specific training and rehearsal exercises, as well as providing support for operation and maintenance functions in support of SOF training requirements.
