Description

The work for this project will be performed under the Formerly Used Defense Sites (FUDS) program at a former Nike site and includes the removal of two underground storage tanks (USTs) adjacent to a one-story structure and three pole-mounted electrical transformers. The USTs, up to 6,500 gallons each, are assumed to contain approximately two inches of a water/diesel mixture. The work includes the proper removal and disposal of the USTs, its contents, all associated piping/venting, concrete slabs, and potentially contaminated soil and groundwater. The three pole-mounted transformers are assumed to be 75 KVA each, and work includes proper removal and disposal of the transformers and contents. Contents are known to contain polychlorinated byphenils (PCBs). The work will also include an option for the deconstruction of a a small concrete one-story structure (40 ft x 20 ft). This work will include the restoration of the site to grade and restoration of cover compatible with existing conditions.
